Crostata - the favored recipe by Gin Falcone

We present you recipe of our friend Gin Falcone for a crostata-cake. On family celebrations everyone is looking forward to getting one piece of this favored cake. After a long time we were able to draw this secret recipe from Gin...



for the shortcrust:

  • 200 g flour
  • 100 g butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pack of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon


further ingredients:

  • Butter to grease the baking pan
  • Amaretti
  • 3 Tsp. apricot jam
  • 6 fresh nectarines cut into slices
  • 2-3 Tsp. sugar



For the shortcrust mix all ingredients until it they become a smooth dough. Let the dough rest in the fridge for half an hour. 


Grease the baking pan with butter and cover the bottom and the sides with the dough. If you want you can put some dough aside for the decoration.


For the filling crumble some amaretti and mix them with the apricot jam. Cover the dough in the baking pan with this mixture. After that put the nectarines on top of it. Crumble the rest of the amaretti onto the cake. Finally put the sugar on top of the cake so it can caramelize in the oven. If you have put some dough aside, you can roll it out, cut it into lines and decorate the cake with it.


Put the baking pan into the heated oven and bake the cake at 180 °C für ca. 40 minutes.


Take the cake out of the oven, let it rest until it is cooled down. Then take the cake out of the baking pan.
